So this is sort of interesting – some photos have appeared of Emma Stone with her new blonde get-up, in preparation for the Gwen Stacey role in Spider-Man Whatever.What’s interesting is that a bunch of people have commented on how much she looks like a Steve Ditko character – Ditko being Spider-Man’s co-creator.
Now, it’s entirely possible that Ditko just happened to draw gorgeous women and that Emma Stone is, by happy coincidence, gorgeous herself – or it could suggest that whoever’s directing this thing is going for a particular aesthetic related to the early comics. This idea of sticking to a comic book’s visual aesthetic in film is something we saw in Sin City and 300, but less so in more conventional spandex-and-superpowers flicks – so I’m curious to see where they go with this.
Or else I’m curious to see what Emma Stone is up to. Maybe she’s free for coffee, or a movie, or maybe we could just sit around and talk. I’m happy either way.
