Children under 6 free entry. On Sundays from the end of November until the beginning of April, musical concerts are held on the lawns at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Bring the whole family, a picnic and a bottle of wine and enjoy some of South Africa’s best live music while the sun slips behind the mountain.
This coming season starts on Sunday 21 November with Just Jinjer taking the stage to start up the summer celebrations. Just Jinjer has been hailed as one of South Africa`s top live acts and they have performed to sold out shows nationwide over the past few months. Their show at Kirstenbosch Garden in February 2010 was attended by more than 6 000 people. It was one of their first shows since being back in SA after living and working in the US for 8 years. Fans were thrilled to see Just Jinjer back home and the sunny, vibey afternoon ended with a standing ovation for the phenomenal single “What He Means.”
Just Jinjer`s frontman Ard Matthews says: “We are stoked to be the first band to play at Kirstenbosch for the new season. We can`t wait to see our fans and spend some time with them in these magnificent Gardens again.”
Expect a great production that will be a special showcase of songs over the years since the band started out in 1996. Just Jinjer will perform two tracks off each of the seven albums released up to date and also introduce some new songs, due for release on their new full length album early next year.
