Researchers at the University of Manchester’s mobile biometry project have put together a demo application that allows people to use voice and face recognition to log in to Facebook, Twitter and Gmail accounts, which is going to be hell for people with a forgettable face.
The demo was built for the Nokia N9000, seen in the video above, but Dr Philip Tesadern says that it could work as well on the iPhone – and that the demo would’ve been made for that platform, had the iPhone 4 with front-facing camera been released sooner. This does seem like an infinitely more useful tool than FaceTime.
