Mustache = Totally legit

The publisher of the New Age newspaper, which launches next month and has been billed as a staunch pro-ANC mouthpiece, was arrested this weekend.

Atul Gupta, a billionaire businessman and close friend of one J.G. Zuma, esq., was nicked for non-cooperation of a search of his personal affects by SAPS following the pulling over of his private motor vehicle in Johannesburg.

Chubby Atul was whacked into a paddy-wagon, and spirited to gaol where he was released with a warning.

He appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court today on charges of obstruction of justice, where the state duly declined to prosecute him.

Of course, that had nothing to do with an alleged visit to the police station at the time of his arrest by Jacob Zuma’s son, and business partner of Atul Gupta’s son, Duduzane Zuma.

Gupta’s New Age claims that there are only two sides to every story. So either the police are guilty of gross incompetence, or Atul Gupta’s privileged position in society was brought to bare. Both options are depressing stereotypes.

Oh how excruciatingly predictable.
