New Cristiano Ronaldo Armani Jeans Commercial – It’s quite funny to see that he spends most of the ad in his jocks, with the actual jeans only featuring at the very end. But such is the power of Cristiano’s body, apparently. I’m sure I will be made to do the same thing, following my underwear exposure exercise I could be made to endure – depending on you, of course. I can’t imagine the call from Armani coming in too long after that.. [ronaldo]
The World’s Most Expensive Home Sells For R2.2 Billion – The most expensive three bedroom flat in history has been sold for almost £200m – despite a dark history involving a murder in its main reception room. They bought the 17,500 sq ft flat from Englishwoman Lily Safra in the early 2000s. [dailymail]

Rain Pushes US Open Men’s Final To Monday – For the third year in a row, the U.S. Open men’s final has been postponed to Monday because of inclement weather. Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, who played a gruelling five-setter against Roger Federer in the semifinals, must have learned that rain dance. “I don’t know the rituals how to invite the rain, but . . . an extra day would be great, actually,” Djokovic said after his win over Federer on Saturday. Kim Clijsters Wins US Open – If ever there were a defining indictment of women’s tennis in the modern era, it surely arrived at Flushing Meadows when Kim Clijsters beat Vera Zvonareva in a minute less than an hour to win her second successive US Open final. In 15 years this event has not produced a three-set final. Not since Chris Evert beat Evonne Goolagong 6-3, 6-0 in 1976 has the tournament witnessed a more lopsided title decider. [guardian]

New Cowboy Seats Makes Economy Class Look Luxurious – Think your seat in coach is cramped? Take a look at the SkyRider. The new airplane seat, to be unveiled next week at the Aircraft Interiors Expo Americas conference in Long Beach, would give passengers an experience akin to riding horseback. They’d sit at an angle with no more than 23 inches between their perch and the seat in front of them. Even if you get a spare seat next to you, you can’t stretch out. Not my vibe. [usatoday]
Rupert Murdoch And The Future Of British Media – When Rupert Murdoch appeared on his own Fox News Channel last week and was, astonishingly, asked about the News of the World phone-hacking scandal – “the story that was really buzzing around the country and certainly here in New York”, as the anchorman put it – Murdoch cut him off with the words: “I’m not talking about that issue at all today. I’m sorry.” [guardian]
Becks And Posh Ad Gone Too Far? That’s what Vanessa Raphaely reckons. “This week, the world has been diverted by the giant Football cock-up that is Brand Rooney. A football fabel, if there ever was one, to warn against making idols out of players. That they are sporting heroes goes without question. On the field they are due all our admiration and respect. It’s a different story when playas take their clothes off.” Check out the ad in question – saucy! [hurricanevannesa]
