I’m feeling all weird inside as I write this, but it would be wrong not to (write this) as one of Hollywoods youngest starlets, Dakota “The Fandog” Fanning, really is growing up. Sure, she’s only 16, but that’s about 28 in Hollywood years. I mean, if you think about it, Roman Polanski would have had her three years ago already!
Here she is on the cover of the latest US Marie Claire.

But seriously, it looks like our very own Jodie Foster is blossoming into something quite cute and, hopefully, sensible. She certainly does strike me as a smart little angel. So did a few others, mind you, before they made their first sex tape.
You know she’s in a movie coming out soon called The Runaways, right? Seriously – she co-stars with Kristen Stewart. No, I’m serious! And, what’s more, they kiss in the movie.
I swear.
Check it out:
Dakota Fanning looks grown up and glamorous on the cover of Marie Claire’s August 2010 issue, on newsstands Tuesday, July 13!
Here’s what the 16-year-old actress had to share:
On kissing Kristen Stewart in The Runaways: ” It’s out of the way, and it was with my friend and a girl – no pressure. It was not something Cherie [Currie] and Joan [Jett] ever really spoke about, and that’s how it was filmed – as not that big of a deal.”
On growing up in the business: “When you start out young, people get really attached to who you are at 6 years old. I hope that The Runaways was kind of a moment to be like, ‘You know, I’m not that young little girl anymore, but I’m still not all grown up, either.”

Only time will tell if she will follow in the tracks of Lindsay Lohan.
But somehow I doubt it – I have a good feeling about Fanners.
