A great deal of fuss has been made by FIFA regarding the sanctity of its brand, and the brands of its official partners in the run up to the World Cup.
A great deal of counter-fuss has been made by the brands who were left outside of the World Cup money machine fraternity.
So it’s understandable that when these two world’s collide, things can get a little catty.
Yesterday FIFA notched up a new high on the pettiness metre by harassing a group of hot women.
FIFA alleged that the group of women were engaged in a nasty bout of ambush marketing, because the clothing they were wearing was the colour of a non-endorsed brand – Bavaria Beer.
We should probably mention at this point that the girls were wearing orange clothing. At a Netherlands game.
With about 20 000 people who were also wearing orange. It might not be unfair to suggest that said ladies were detained only for wearing those halter necks on a fairly chilly day.
Someone better give the Ivory Coast supporters a solid heads up.
