I get pretty excited when my crew at Sunglass Hut tell me they have kept me a pair of 18-carat gold limited “gold edition” Dolce & Gabbana shades. I get even more excited when they tell me they kept me the only pair available in the country at the moment..

That’s when I asked them the simple question, “Are those the ones I saw Brad Pitt wearing?”

“Yes,” was the magic answer.

My body tingled as I googled my head off, trying to find the image I remember of BP.

A certificate of authenticity comes with each pair of glasses attesting to the originality, design and quality and the use of 18-carat gold.

Packaging
Each pair of glasses is presented in its own beautiful little jewellery box featuring a plaque with the words “Dolce&Gabbana Gold Edition” and containing two tiny side drawers to hold the cleaning cloth and certificate of authenticity. These details make the packaging exclusive, turning it into a multi-function luxury accessory. I’m not entirely sure how much these puppies cost, but luckily that is irrelevant, because owning these is a necessity, not a decision that you have to make.
