Sports Wrap with Chowgaps + TV Times

I’m writing from a Vida e Café. I feel like an overpaid Generations actor that drives a mini-cooper. It feels nice.

So, after some great suggestions and plenty of foraging, I’ve managed to put together the first five, of what will finally become the inaugural, proudly South African, SAWAG Top 10. Now, when I read that quickly the first time I read Sehwag, and so I’m changing it to, the first-ever SA WAG Rankings.

I realised the situation was dire, but I just never realised how dire it was until I started compiling the list. South African WAGS simply don’t feature in our tabloids. It’s a hard-knock life for aspirant young WAG-hopefuls, and there’s a small part of me that feels we can’t solely place the blame on our sportsmen and women. How can they be expected to raise the bar in the WAG department when there isn’t a benchmark in the Republic? The USA have set the bar at Andy Roddick’s WAG, Brooklyn Decker. That’s a high bar. In fact, that bar is so high, when I asked Okkert Britz what he thought, he agreed.

It left me with very little option, and so, in no particular order, here are the first five additions to the first-ever SA WAG Rankings.

Here goes…

Bryan Habana and wife, Janine Viljoen.

Captain Biff and with his new lady, Brigitte Sarembock. Top marks to this WAG as she leads by example and heads off to India to support her man.

Neil McKenzie and Kerry McGregor. A seasoned WAG, who’s no stranger to the ins and outs of a WAG’s life.

Roland Schoeman and Kate Midgely. The new WAG.

Sue Erasmus. JP Duminy’s WAG.

Five positions to go as we work towards SA’s fairest top ten WAG’s. Feel free to send through your suggestions for the final five, which will, next week, make up the inaugural Top 10 SA WAG Rankings. Thanks for all your suggestions so far. Keep em coming. Mail to oorlogspoort@gmail.com.
