You might recall the article we published the other day entitled “CAPE TOWN COMPANY SCAMS BRITISH JOBSEEKERS” which detailed an alleged online job seeker recruitment scam at the hands of a company by the name of Darnell International. As mentioned in the article, it is “alleged” and very much one person’s views and it was up to you to decide whether it is a scam or not. Some of you commented in the comments section of that article and gave your views. Such is the beauty of online “social media.”

And now, just like you had your opportunity to give your views, so has the man of the moment and the target of the accusations, Oliver Darnell. I received an email from Oliver this morning and so, in all fairness, I am more than happy to give him this opportunity to say his bit.

Subject: darnell international scam

Dear Seth,

I would like to give you a bit of background about Darnell International. We are primarily a recruitment company placing candidates locally, in the UK and the Middle East. We have a small training department that offers online vocational training courses and have been providing these courses for the last 5 years. We have sold over 3000 training courses and have recently received a few complaints. The reason for these complaints is partly due to

1 an increased demand and our customer service team not being able to cope with the volume of applicants, but this has now been addressed

2 the recession in the UK and candidates not being able to get the positions they want. As a business we are able to provide guarenteed positions for most of these candidates, however most of the guarenteed positions are self employed.

We are addressing each and every comment on Money Saving Expert and are taking this very seriously.

We would ask you kindly to remove your article and replys which are both slanderous on myself and my company before we have to refer this to our legal team.
