Just a quick one, friends. I realised that, because of the amount of stuff on 2oceansvibe in various nooks and crannies, there is clearly a mountain of literature that some of the newbies may have missed. Whoops, that’s my fault – apologies! So think of this post as a quick educational!
2oceansvibe has been going for seven years now. It started out as a website purely for my closest friends. A website which posted photographs of the parties that we went to the weekend before, so that we could all check them out. That was when only a few people had actual email addresses, but were still able to get on the internet. It was before thunda.com, facebook, MMS, The TBG, Twitter and even blog sites.
From there things grew and 2oceansvibe has changed and developed constantly year after year. It is owned 100% by me and has never had a blueprint or road map. It is ever evolving and if you look at the articles from 2002, you’ll see they are massively different to 2003, and 2004 and 2005 etc etc. And so are the brands. The restaurants we support have changed, the drinks have changed, the clothing brands have changed and the amount of articles you get every day has gone up considerably!
The thing is this – there is no rigid format here – 2oceansvibe is a JOURNEY. A reality show, if you will. Either you’re coming along for the ride, or you’re not. But one thing is for sure, true 2oceansvibers understand the bigger picture – I’m having fun and I’m doing it for you. And I’ll take care of you wherever I can. That is why I have only ever worked with brands that I trust and believe in and will allow you exposure to. That’s how this whole thing works. No-one is forcing you to be here and you are more than welcome to give the odd article (or the whole vibe) a skip.
You going to Ibiza? We’ll plug you in with Goldfish. You in LA? – I’ll do my best to have a drink with you when I’m there. You need a plumber?, I’ll connect you with an old school friend of mine who won’t let you down. But for those of you who are not enjoying the ride, seriously, tell me who is forcing you to come here and I’ll have a word with them. But if you are here of your own free will and you don’t like it, hah, then maybe you’re in the wrong place? Rather go your own way instead of upsetting yourself.
I strongly suggest that everyone reads the article about ASSOCIATE BRANDS – the first draft of which I wrote about 5 years ago. Some of you seem to have missed it. I want you to know about the places, people and brands I like and those that I support. That is what is going on here. It’s all part of making work a sideline and living the holiday.
But true 2oceansvibers will know there is far more to “the vibe” than that. Again, because there is no script – ANYTHING is possible. You might remember the fight I had with the Idols judges last year – do you think that was a part of the plan for that year? No it wasn’t. I’m currently flying to LA to work with Pauly Shore and to report back to you the whole way. Do you think I planned that? No, I didn’t. And tickets for the UK ex-pats to go and watch U2 in Dublin – just a little something to keep you on your toes..
And when I write about something that you don’t agree with, there is nothing I like more than 2oceansvibers getting into a serious debate about it in the comments section. Agreeing or disagreeing, it doesn’t matter – but jumping into the comments section and giving your ten cents about how bad it is that 2oceansvibe is promoting a restaurant or a brand???? Goodness me! Then you’ve just missed the point completely, my friend – and best you move on.
But if you want to be here, then take if for what it is, and rather feed off the positive vibes. We’re a team here, by the way – no one is out to get you.
You get the picture?
So that’s all I really have to say right now. The 2oceansvibe visitor stats are bigger every week than the week before and I want to thank the supporters for it. It’s because of you we are able to continue growing, bringing you crazy amazing things like The 2oceansvibe Weathergirls and 2oceansvibe TV!
God only knows what’s next!
Just remember one thing – it’s all for you.
Thanks for joining.
All my love,
Seth.
