Ferris Bueller aficionado’s will remind you that this was the venue for the biggest kid balls up of all time. When Ferris and Cameron put Cam’s dad’s Ferrari GT 250 California on bricks, so they could reverse the mileage they had done that day. The car came off the bricks and shot off, out the window, into the woods below.

I thought we’d end this one off with some important clips from the movie, starting off in the garage of that very house above. The moment where it all goes wrong – the moment that Cameron agrees to spend the day cruising around in his dad’s car with Ferris. And what a day it was.

Interesting fact : The world record auction price for a car USED to be the same model car as the one used in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (The Ferrari GT 250 California) but it was very recently beaten by the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. We told you all about that sometime last month. CLICK HERE if you missed it.

Remember, we said we would have to win the EuroMillions in order to win that auction! Incidentally, I see there was a rollover and this weekend’s jackpot is sitting at €40,000! That’s R456 million – call it half a billion Rand. Fine. CLICK HERE to play safely online.

If you haven’t seen the movie then I strongly advise you do. It’s available at DVD Nouveau. Don’t tell anyone you haven’t seen it. Just get it, quickly watch it, and then pretend to be normal.
