With the 20-60yrs of age female readership of this website, I do hope the angels out there, young and old, realise how naturally beautiful they are. There is a particularly dangerous mental and financial trap that woman can fall into when it comes to beauty products and, if this how you girls are imagining/seeing yourselves at 40, then we really need to have a chat.
GASP!
Come now! That is radical, don’t you think?
A TORTOISE!? Jesus!
Can you imagine how that must screw with the head of a 39 year old angel on the eve of her 40th birthday? Actually, make that a 39 year old SINGLE angel on the eve of her 40th birthday! Alone, at home, paging through the latest Vogue, wondering if she’ll ever find a man and have children. She is reassured by the things her friends and parents have told her. “Times have changed. 40 is the new 30. You look great! Woman can have kids MUCH older these days. You’re in your prime!”
And then she turns over the page and sees the tortoise, showing her what 40 looks like. With the holy grail positioned on the tortoise’s shell. A $49 tub of cream. Wow, she thinks to herself, R420 to not look like a tortoise! I’LL TAKE IT!!!!
And so it goes on.
Look, I’m a bit of a sucker for some of the skin/beauty products on the shelves. It’s common knowledge that, from age 16 to 21, I was partial to Clinique’s Dramtically Different Moisturising Lotion – such was the life of an only child living at home. I don’t use that one anymore but, who knows, maybe that’s the reason I look so good today? Maybe it works even better as a preemptive solution?
Eat healthy and exericise my angels and you’ll be fine. Get a good moisturizer and take it easy on the makeup.
And don’t forget how much I love you.
I’m hugging you now, through the screen and via your mouse.
