I’ve mentioned Louis Theroux to you before. Do you remember? Probably not. I mentioned that his documentary series was available at DVD Nouveau . I also told you about the white supremacist racists that he spent some time with. This included living with the gorgeous blonde monsters, Lynx and Lamb.
For those of you aware of the brilliance of Louis Theroux’s unequalled interviewing style will be over-the-moon to hear that another series of his is running at the moment on DSTV on BBC Knowledge (channel 251) on Tuesday nights at 21h30.
Louis Theroux
Louis likes to get deep into various world sub-cultures and poke around, almost always with hair-raising results. The series at DVD Nouveau includes one he did with our dear AWB leader, Eugene Terreblanche. Now THAT was something to behold. ET nearly ate his head off, as they perused a map of South Africa, with Eugene pointing out which parts he “wants.”
Last week’s BBC Knowledge feature was an incredibly disturbing, with Louis investigating the Westboro Baptist church. They’re the guys who believe that “God Hates Fags.” Lovely bunch – check them out here.
This week’s documentary is called Under The Knife and this is what we’re told to expect : Louis travels to California to observe the obsession with self-image. He discovers you can be whoever you want to be for a few thousand dollars.
“Under The Knife”
Tuesday at 21h30 on channel 251
I like the sound of that.
Next week’s is called Behind Bars and it says : Louis visits one of America’s most infamous prisons. San Quentin is steeped in folklore, but Louis reveals the harsh truth of life on the inside.
Awesome!
