Now, I’m sure we’ve chatted before about this. Or maybe we merely touched on it. And this is the subject of numberplates. The CA plates versus the WP plates, to be more specific.
There seems to be a bit of confusion amongst foreigners and locals alike, when it comes to the various plates. People refer to having spotted CA 69 on the road, but upon further investigation as to the make of the car, it turns out they were actually referring to 69 WP – another car and plate altogether. It is important that we all understand the differences, so as to correctly gauge the vibe.
The WP plates haven’t been around for a long time and were primarily created for people to personalise their plates, using their name or words. People then started to focus on simple numbers, rather than words, and now we are at a point where a misunderstood level of prestige is bestowed upon people with single digit WP plates. I stress that you should not fall into this trap.
It’s fine. Absolute fine.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Very different to, say, CA 3
The above picture, for example, taken today by Grant D. What does this say to you? Sure, it’s super cool to have such a short number plate. But the problem is the WP plates also allow for letters, rather than just numbers. So what about C WP? Would that be cool as well?
This is where we come to highlight the difference between nouveau and old school . Having the number 3, in a merely numerical data set (that of the CA plates) represents the THIRD number plate ever distributed under that system. Now, for me, that represents true prestige. You’re talking history there. You’re talking grand old families, dynasties, stories. You can read more about CA 3 here . The mayor has CA 1. No gives a fuck about 1 WP. It’s nice, but it’s not cool. Like real cool.
Whilst there is absolutely nothing wrong with the short numberplate, as above, the big thing I want to emphasise here is that you do not become confused and disillusioned with the WP plates. Don’t let them get the better of you.
This brings on another example, which further drives home the utter confusion and misunderstanding on the roads. I mean, WHAT is going on here?
Who are you?
Again, we ask the question, “what are you doing?” and “who are you trying to be?”
You’re utilising the free selection of numbers and letters to PRETEND to be a single-digit CA plate (the coolest of the cool), but then there is a very clear WP on the end. So you bought a personalised plate to PRETEND to be a CA plate? Even though it is quite clear, just by looking at the number plate, what you have done?
You see, again, this is the main issue I am stressing here – people are praying upon the less informed and the weak and perhaps tricking them them into believing they are something that they are not. And I’m sure it works too! There must be a large number of bimbo’s who will be running around saying that the guy who they bonked drives a car with the numberplate CA 8. She won’t even mention the WP part.
Because he is being sneaky sneaky.
Look, the proof of the pudding is in the blow jobs, and, if it works, you can’t blame the guy.
But I just thought I’d make that clear.
Have a lovely day.
